7.1 Central Office Port Testing:
• It is preferred that all technicians utilize the D.A.T.A. Bonded Test script (as outlined in section 9
of this M&P) to perform testing on Bonded ADSL2+ lines. Even if the technician does not have
access to a Cisco DDR2200 Gateway and thus can’t upload results, the script will provide a
summary page providing the combined sync rate, attenuation, and noise margin. If using the
manual testing procedure the technician will have to keep track of the test results for both ports
and manually calculate.
• If the technician has access to a Cisco DDR2200 Gateway, it is required that the technician uses
the D.A.T.A. Bonded Test script as shown in section 9 of this M&P to perform testing and
upload results.
• Guidelines for Good Physical Statistics when testing from the frame;
Test each port for sync – rate should be equal to or close to provisioned rate.
Noise Margin must be at least 9db (should average between 15-20db at the frame)
Attenuation should be minimal to non-existent (0-5db)
7.2 Manual Test Procedure:
• Power on test set
• Choose ADSL soft key (2
nd
key from left)
• Choose ADSL Modem Emulate
• Follow existing manual testing process
