Easy Installation: Try These Steps First! (CRWS Users)

If Cisco Router Web Setup (CRWS) is installed in the router, try the procedures in this section to get the

router connected to the Internet. If you specified Security Device Manager (SDM) be installed when you

ordered the router, cable the router and then refer to the “If SDM is Installed On the Router” section on

page 1-14.

This router is configured for the most common type of installation. To set up the router quickly, you can

try performing the following steps:

Step 1 Connect one end of the yellow Ethernet cable to the router. Connect the PCs to the router, and connect

the router to a broadband modem. Make sure that the PCs are turned off.

Step 2 Connect the power. Connect the AC adapter to the router, and plug the AC adapter into a wall socket.

Step 3 Start, or restart, a PC that is connected to the router.

Step 4 Now you can start a web browser and try to connect to a website.

If you connected to a website, the installation is successful. If the website did not appear, or if you want

more information, use this Quick Start Guide.
