• conﬁgure—Changes the access server’s software conﬁguration.

• debug—Displays process and hardware event messages. Use caution with the debug

command because the additional load of generating debug message can overload the

CPU.

• setup—Enter conﬁguration information at the prompts.

Enter the command disable to exit from the privileged EXEC mode and return to user

EXEC mode.

Conﬁguration Mode

You use conﬁguration mode to conﬁgure the access server. You can use conﬁguration mode

for initial setup of the system (using the subcommand setup), as well as to change settings

after initial setup, either permanently or temporarily.

Conﬁguration mode has a set of submodes that you use for modifying interface settings,

routing protocol settings (such as Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP), or Open

Shortest Path First (OSPF)), line settings, and so forth. Use caution with conﬁguration

mode because all changes you enter take effect immediately.

Enter the command conﬁgure terminal to enter conﬁguration mode and exit by pressing

Ctrl–Z. The following is a sample conﬁguration session:
