Work-Around
Verify that your system has sufficient memory and swap space. Refer to
“Minimum System Requirements” on page 4 for information on the sys-
tem requirements for NetMetrix, and be sure to take into account the
needs of other software on the system.
Description Printing from Load Monitor or Internetwork Monitor results in
error message
Details When you attempt to print from either of these applications, an error
dialog appears indicating “Problems executing command…” The actual
problem is that the print utilities netm_xpr and netm_xwd dump core.
Work-Around Verify that your system has the required patches for NetMetrix. Refer to
/doc/req_patches.txt on the CD-ROM for details.
Description NetMetrix applications warn about missing keysyms
Symptom Applications display messages like, “Warning: Translation table syntax
error: Unknown keysym name.”
Details NetMetrix attempts to install a file called XKeysymDB; if this file cannot
be installed (for example, if it already exists), the installation puts a copy
in /usr/netm/config/template. If you use OpenWindows, the instal-
lation also creates a link from /usr/openwin/lib/XKeysymDB to
/usr/lib/X11/XKeysymDB, if possible. Messages indicating the instal-
lation’s actions are included in the installation log file.
Work-Around To eliminate the warning messages, compare the XKeysymDB files in
/usr/lib/X11 and/usr/netm/config/template. Merge the infor-
mation in these two files such that all of the keysyms defined in the
NetMetrix file are also in /usr/lib/X11/XKeysymDB.
If you use OpenWindows, check whether /usr/openwin/lib/
XKeysymDB is a link to /usr/lib/X11/XKeysymDB. If not, create the
link, or you can also merge the keysyms from /usr/netm/config/
template/XKeysymDB into /usr/openwin/lib/XKeysymDB.
