Description

The DPC2100™ Cable Modem (DPC2100) provides DOCSIS

broadband network

operators with a cost-effective solution for delivering standards-based, high-speed

data services to their subscribers.

The DPC2100 is designed to meet DOCSIS 2.0 specifications as well as offering

backward compatibility for operation in DOCSIS 1.1 and DOCSIS 1.0 networks.

WebWizard

The DPC2100 features WebWizard, a browser-based user interface. WebWizard is

a powerful tool that facilitates installation and troubleshooting. WebWizard

eliminates the need to load set-up software on the customer premises equipment

(CPE).

Cable Modem Access Protection

The DPC2100 features Cable Modem Access Protection. When enabled, this

feature blocks network side access to the CPE. This software-based “standby switch”

provides the user with the ability to disable the Ethernet and USB data communications

when their computers are not in use, which reduces the risk of unauthorized “hacking”

into the CPE. This quick and simple “off” mechanism is used instead of physically

disconnecting cables.

Edition (SE)

• Five front-panel LED status indicators that provide visual feedback of real-time data

transmission and operational status

• Bridged Ethernet and USB port

• Enhanced bi-directional performance maximizes data throughput

• Rugged electronic components for long-term reliability

• Remote manageability using SNMP V1/V2 and V3

• Software upgradeable by network download

• CD-ROM containing user’s guide and USB driver installation software
