Cisco 1548 Micro Switch 10/100 Cisco Networked Office Stack

The Cisco 1548 Micro Switch is an affordable, easy to use, 10/100 autosensing Fast Ethernet switch

for creating high-performance LANs in small offices and workgroups. A single Cisco Micro Switch

10/100 offers eight 10BaseT/100BaseTX switched ports, making it ideal for connecting

high-performance workstations and servers. The Cisco 1548 Micro Switch 10/100 also can be

deployed as the LAN backbone in larger office networks aggregating other devices, including the

Cisco 1528 Micro Hub 10/100.

Each switch port supports autosensing and autonegotiation

features to correctly set the communications speed and

duplex mode between connected devices. The Cisco 1548

Micro Switch 10/100 offers the key advantages of simple

conﬁguration, low cost, optimal port density, high

performance, and ﬂexibility.

The Cisco 1548 Micro Switch 10/100 is an integral

member of the Cisco Networked Ofﬁce stack of networking

solutions designed for small businesses. Combined with the

Cisco 1600 router series and other products in the Cisco

Networked Ofﬁce stack, the Cisco 1548 Micro Switch 10/

100 provides high-performance local-area networking with

reliable and affordable Internet access, and a secure

remote-access solution.

High Performance

• Eight 10BaseT/100BaseTX autosensing, autonegotiation

ports deliver Fast Ethernet performance where it is needed

most—to demanding workgroups and servers—while

preserving legacy 10BaseT connectivity.

• Full-duplex operation on each switched 10BaseT/

100BaseTX port delivers upto 200-Mbps of bandwidth to

end stations or servers and between switches.

• 800-Mbps switching capacity with up to 1.19 million

packets per second forwarding rate ensures continuous,

high-speed network operation.

Easy to Install and Use

• Installing a Cisco 1548 Micro Switch 10/100 does not

require technical expertise. Automatic conﬁguration and

self-test on startup ensures that the switch will function

properly.

• Color-coded ports on the rear panel of the unit enable

simple and accurate connection of hubs, PCs and

workstations, printers, fax servers, and other devices.

• LED indicators on each port of the Cisco 1548 Micro

Switch 10/100 provide comprehensive and convenient

visual management. LEDs indicate system and port status,

power, bandwidth utilization, speed (10 Mbps or 100

Mbps), and half-/full-duplex operation.

• Autonegotiation on each port automatically selects half- or

full-duplex transmission mode to optimize bandwidth.
